A Republican Coup

A Political Coup in the USA

Linguistically, coup d’état is French for “a strike to the state” (coup [blow], d’ [to the] état, [state]).[1] Analogously, the term also is casually used to mean gaining advantage of a rival, either by a group or a person, e.g. an intelligence coup, boardroom coup.

After watching the events unfold in the political arena over the past months and considering all that has happened and where we are currently, I believe we, the conservative base of the Republican party, are victims of the most remarkable Political Coup in the history of this nation.

When I look at the political field just 1 month ago and the very viable choices we had to overcome the socialist agenda of liberals in the Democratic and to a lesser extent the Republican parties, I am stunned at how quickly our choices were whittled down. The Republican Party stands on the threshold of becoming another arm of the liberal socialists in this country. If they are successful we will be marginalized.

The players have been members of both the Democratic and Republican parties as well as the MSM as well as some pseudo conservative media outlets. I think there have been a lot of pawns in this coup: Christian leaders, some conservative leaders and conservative talk show hosts as well as many in the blogosphere and of course the American voters. I have been listening to numerous conservatiave talk shows and reading on many blog sites and online newsources, both conservative and liberal, and this has been absolutely incredible.

I think true conservatives have been so busy with the brush fires that were being set, meaning a rather volatile Republican field, that we missed the missile coming at us from the rear, RINO John McCain.

The Republican Party and more importantly the conservative base are about to be assimilated into the liberal socialist movement of those who have sat for years on the opposite side of the aisle. That aisle has been narrowing for a number of years and the only way that can happen is if those on the right are moving left.

This narrowing and blurring of lines and principles has not been happening fast enough for liberals so with the help of their liberal friends on our side of the aisle, which seems to be growing, they are set to execute a spectacular coup within the Republican Party, using their point man John McCain. They are getting plenty of help from the liberal media, liberal governors, democrats and many left of center moderates & libeals within the Republican Party, and in addition are using what I believe are very underhanded, yet effective, political ruses. For example: independents and dems voting as republicans in the primaries. Boldly lying in Clintonesque fashion about their opponents, ie McCain accusing Romney of wanting timetables to pull out of Iraq. That lie has been totally debunked even by the liberal media, they knew they couldn't get away with it, can you say Dan Rather. Yet, Senator McCain continues to use it even when he is confronted with the undeniable truth.

If we do not wake up immediately it is going to be too late. If this Coup is successful this is what we will have to look forward to:

  • More McCain-Feingold legislation taking away more freedom of speech.

  • We will have open borders and be assimilating millions of Illegal Aliens overnight with another amnesty bill like McCain-Kennedy, not to mention the threat to our National Security. Can you say “Dirty Bomb”.

  • We will have more liberal activist judges appointed to the supreme court, remember McCains assertion in the past weeks about Justice Ahlito being to conservative, and don't forget his leadership of the Gang of 14.

  • Higher taxes, John McCain did vote against the Bush Tax cuts and not for the reason he is stating now. He took the Liberal/socialist line of class warfare: too much for the rich and not enough for the poor. This too is a matter of record that contradicts his current lie.

  • We will have reimportation of drugs destroying our drug companies, endangering unsuspecting Americans and gutting research that could have led to cures.

  • We will have more costly medical lawsuits burgeoning an already faltering medical system through more of the felonious “Patients Bill of Rights” type of legislation we saw in that McCain-Kennedy-Edwards bill. The only ”bill of rights” is for the trial lawyers, and the ones who are going to pay are the patients and their employers.

  • More McCain-Lieberman which is a disasterous Green House Gas boondocggle that is going to Hamper more American industries and enterprises and force them to move to other countries.

  • We will have more McCain-ACLU defense of enemy terrorists and limit our military's ability to get vital information out of prisoners through known techniques, such as waterboarding . It works, and while very unpleasant it's not torture.

  • We will also end up with Guantanamo Bay closed and we will have Al-Queda terrorists in our prisons who will immediately have the same rights under our constitiution that our citizens have. The supreme court has continued to interpret that they are not eligible for those rights outside our borders. Once here it is another matter.

  • We can probably expect to see our military downsized and gutted like we saw through the ninties and which has left us struggling to handle the challenges we have faced since 9/11.

  • We may also be at risk as far as our second ammendment right to bear arms, as McCain has had a mixed and troubling record on this issue. In view of his evolving pro-liberal socialist stances I believe this is a real threat.
